Gehard Gessel established himself as a quality photographer, working out of his Alma studio. His works are still very popular today, and his collection is the second largest on hand at the Wisconsin Historical Society. All of his children were gifted individuals and his son Dr. Arnold Gessel would go on to become Alma’s most famous native son. The Gessel room is impressively furnishing in late 1800s and early 1900s walnut furniture.
